Mayor Kathy M. Sheehan and Cash for Coats program partners Jack & Mark Yonally of Lodge’s Department Store, Susan Fogarty, Executive Director of The Palace Theatre, Burke Companies CEO Tom Burke, & City School District of Albany Superintendent Kaweeda G. Adams distributed new winter items collected through the 2018 Cash for Coats Drive to Schuyler Achievement Academy students in need this morning. Cash donations were collected throughout the month of October and early November to benefit the drive, which has distributed tens of thousands of brand new coats, hats, gloves, mittens and scarves to Albany children since 2007. This year over 600 coats and 3,000 hats/gloves/scarves were given out to City School District of Albany elementary school children at four different schools on Monday.
This is the Palace Theatre's second year participating in the Cash for Coats program. Donations were collected at select performances at the Palace Theatre during November and December. The Palace is proud to support such an important program.
