The City of Albany Launches 2019 Cash For Coats Drive at Palace Theatre

Mayor Kathy Sheehan and program partners announced details for the 2019 Cash for Coats Drive, a community-based initiative designed to collect funds to purchase new winter clothing items for Albany school children in need. Presented by the City of Albany, the Palace Theatre, and Lodge’s Department Store, this year’s Cash for Coats Drive will take place at these special events being held at The Palace Theatre.

Oct 10 – Jerry Seinfeld
Oct 16- Country 107.7 GNA’s Secret Star Acoustic Jam
Oct 20 – Harry Potter Family Fun Day
Oct 25 – Nick Offerman
Oct 26- Kansas

Ticketholders are encouraged to make cash donations of any size at the events. Representatives from the City of Albany and the Albany Tulip Queen & Court will be on hand with more information on the program. Ticket information for the events is available at http://www.palacealbany.org/.

Over the years, the Cash for Coats program has distributed tens of thousands of new winter clothing items to Albany schoolchildren. Lodge’s offers a significant discount on any items purchased for the Cash for Coats Drive, maximizing the impact of each cash donation.


The Cash for Coats Drive is sponsored by The Palace Theatre, Lodge’s Department Store, Burke Companies. Additional partners include Burke Companies, City School District of Albany, Superintendent Kaweeda G. Adams, Albany Police Athletic League, Albany Parking Authority, Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Central Ave BID and the Downtown Albany BID.
